which calcium should i get to put in a dish in the tank?
i use without D3.. for feeding and disk
( use a plastic jug lid ) for in the cage. you dont need a huge dish ..
people might differ with my opinion or suggestion though
I use calcium without vitamin D3 because too much vitamin can be toxic and dangerous. Usually they get enough vitamin D3 from the multivitamin powder you dust your cricket with.

so if i were to not dust my feeders with anything would i need to use the d3 kind?
please forgive me but ive never known i had to dust feeders with vitamin powder (good thing that came up before i was going to buy my lizard). so what kind of powder do i need to use, and how would i go about dusting mealworms?
I'd still say without. They could still OD on it.
I use ReptoCal to dust my crickets. Make sure it's a multivitamin one. Reptocal, Herptivite just read the labels.
Forgive me if I have you confused with someone else, but didn't you say you had ordered the Leopard Gecko Manual already? Every question you have asked here has been in there and it also explains that you MUST gutload and dust your prey items.

which one do you guys recommend as the best?
I used to use Repcal multivitamin. I put some mealworms or crickets in a bag or small container, and then put some multivitamin and calcium supplement in it and shake until the feeder insects is well coated. Then I give them to my gecko.
i use reptocal. it has d3 in it but only13,000 iu/kg rather than repcal (400,000iu/kg) or others high in d3. I use reptocal liberally - dust and dish. Specific d3 requirements in any reptile are not known so i stay in the middle and havn't had a problem
