you should check out www.reptilebasics.com . and spiders are a great start. their potential is endless! you cant go wrong with them. not to mention they look amazing on their own! im currently working on a "cinnabee" (cinnamon x spider) project. im sure noteveryone likesthem but its in the eye of the beholder! if you like it, go for it! the money is just a bonus!!!

have you seen the list (to date) that N.E.R.D. has on the spiders? if not check it out and check the links! its amazing! another one i want to do in the future is the honey bee (spider x ghost) its like burnt yellow and green! in my opinion anything "bee" is a plus in my book!

if i was you i would go home built racks to start, then work towards the "high end" stuff, same with te incubator, rack rack all that stuff, and like said above go with the morph that you are intrested in, piebalds, and spiders sound good,

There are alot of things to consider if you plan on getting into breeding. First, have you kept ball pythons before? If not, I would get a few normal girls you can raise before spending money on expensive morphs. I researched for about a year straight before I decided to buy and attempt breeding, but theres no better experience than actually keeping and spending time watching your animals grow. There are many things that come up like when you snake decides to fast for 1,2, or 8 months! The first time I had one do that I freaked out, but then understood that some snakes will do that and then there's some that will eat year round. I'm not trying to discourage you from getting into them, but I see people on here all the time that get frustrated with thier animals because they are not doing what they're " supposed to do." One of the biggest questions to think about is what is your total budget to get started. Racks can run from $350 to a couple grand. Incubators have a wide price range too. Then there's the SNAKES! I would get my budget, list all the things you NEED for the snakes (rack, thermostat, heat sources, temp gun, ect) then decide what you want to produce. Sorry if I'm rabling. It's been a LONG day!!! Best of luck and let us know what you decide. We'll be here for you!

thanx chris ya i am not just jumping in to it,,,i have had balls before as pets and enjoyed them when i had them..i also ran into problems back then as well..my snake wouldnt go to the bathroom..tried everything finally a warm bath did the trick..i can see how easy problems can arrise..i have laid out a budget and will be looking into buying a rack system first then maybe a few snakes to start..another question i have for all..does any1 "play"with or hold there snakes ,,treat them like pets..is this a bad thing to do when trying to breed..are they left better off alone in there bins ..does it matter..i know you shouldnt really handle during sheds and during breeding times but what about at all/ thnx guys n gals

My personal opinion is it doesn't matter whether you handle them much or not. I know some breeders think a mean nasty snake makes a better breeder because they think they have a better feeding response, but the only nasty one I have didn't take this year and 3 of the ones I handle frequently either have eggs in the incubator or eggs on the way.
