Just a couple pics - lavender males

lavenderalbino Apr 14, 2008 01:25 PM

I am one of the worlds worst photographers but thought I would share a few pics snapped today. Forgive the pics as they never seem to come out that great in the florescent lighting in the snake room. Let me know what you think.

Grant, your pics are way above average, you capture the different lavender tones in all three pics.

Snap way, we want to see more of Excalibur

Marc

Marc,
Thanks for the kudos on the pics. But I guess the biggest thank you I owe you is teaching me that it is "Excalibur" and NOT "Excaliber". Kind of embarassing and I can't figure out how to use spell check on the forum!! The first two pics are of Excalibur, and the last pic is of Lancelot (an 06 male). The two boys have really been enjoying themselves with the ladies and the babies are starting to hatch.
Thanks again Marc.

Grant,
I read on your site about the video you are working on. How is it coming along?
Thanks Mike

The ultrasound video is coming along pretty well. I will say that it is much alot more work than I would have expected. The video will demonstrate how to use ultrasound in reptiles. We are serially tracking follicular development in several females through all stages from beginning through ovulation. We will also be sharing what we have learned over the last 4 breeding seasons using ultrasound and how we use it in our breeding program. We are just about ready to go into editing and final production so it should be availalbe this summer (Daytona). We have also just put together an ultrasound forum where people can post ultrasound images and get feedback from others. We have sold quite a few ultrasound machines in the last couple of months to large reptile facilities, zoo curators, and individual breeders that are using ultrasound in almost every kind of reptile (turtles, lizards, and all kinds of snakes). We are really excited and think the knowledge base with regard to reptile breeding will exponentiate rapidly as information is freely and rapidly shared.
Good luck and thanks for asking about the video.
