Hey Brad, Congrats on the clutch!!
From the photo it looks like you keep your moss very wet.. do you do this with only easterns or with all of your stuff? I have always used vermiculite in my lay boxes, but i am thinking about trying moss with a few girls this year..
I gave Hatch-Rite a try last year in a few of my incubators, but noticed NO difference at all.. Except for the increase in cost??
~ Mike Russo
Actually Mike, I had just put the box in-I wasn't expecting her to lay for several days (by which time the moss would have dried somewhat)... I've also used vermiculite, but I dislike the way they track the stuff all over the cage. Plus, there just seems to be something female snakes find attractive about sphagnum moss.

Ah, OK I thought it looked a bit wet.. I don't mind the mess too much with vermiculite, i have just been mixing things up the past couple of years..

I agree, sphagnum moss is one of my favorite herpetocultural tools.
daveb
All of my critters like to sit in it. Especially when they are in the mothering way. Take care bud.
Will
...this pic. she is a long way from being in a mothering way, but she loves her bed of moss regardless.

Hey Will,Ive Always liked those Australian Easterns Too!!!L8r
very nice, indeed. some day I will have to break down and buy a boa or python. Other than a dumeril's that I nursed back into existance for a few months, I have never had any of those.
Are you going to sell at Daytona this year? If so did you make it down to the floor? Best of luck with the breeding this season and keep using sphagnum moss, lol!
daveb
I may switch to sphagnum too. the concrete I have been using makes a very lousy medium. Pssst Hey Dave, Indigos later today at last
Wow Mike... what a teaser shot!
Good luck!
Chris
I figured you would catch that Chris.. As you can imagine I am very excited about that pairing.. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!
~ Mike
cross some toes on that pairing Mike! Best of luck!
Chris

What the forum needs is a little humor injection. Any eggs yet? waiting on a zillion clutches but still no eggs for me.
I wait as well.....

Hi Brad,
Congrats on your eggs. Its good to see others doing well with this line. With this pairing you should receive some screamers. My first king eggs are still many weeks away, so I'm a bit envious. Again, congrats Bud.
Will
I'm just a few days away from another cluth. This one is a Hilson female with that nice male I picked up from you at the Syracuse expo in '06. I'll post pics when she lays...
