Tax Day Honduran Eggs

exposito Apr 15, 2008 08:14 PM

We found this girl in the middle of pushing out our first clutch of Hondurans for 08 today. The pics don't show much because we did not want to distract her from her task, but we will try to get some better shots when she is done. She is a very high black Anerythristic that we paired with an even darker male Anerythristic and they are both Het Albino. They should produce some very dark Anerythristics and some very high yellow Snows.

Congrats on the eggs.

When did you warm your hondos up? I am still waiting for mine to hook up.

Hey,

We warmed them up in February and some of them hooked up after the first shed.

Good idea for a pairing to produce the dark aneries and the high yellow snows. Good luck with your EARLY clutches Joe! Keep us posted.

How many clutches are you expecting this year?

Thanks Jon,

She has layed about 8 eggs and is still going, so we will have to wait and see what we end up with.

Wow, that's almost like a body of a black milksnake or of an indigo.

Great stuff Joe!

Ray,

I know if that Snow looks that good in a picture then it must be awesome in person.

Thanks Joe. That pic was taken a little over 3 weeks ago (right after shed). She has turned "blue" and will shed soon...can't wait to see the improvement on the yellow bands. Pics sometimes do not do justice, especially when you are taking pics of snows against artificial lighting.

I think the focus on hondos these days are the extremes (which, are really awesome)...but I think every lover of hondurans should have a snow or two in their collection to really appreciate the colors of the snow.

Her mother below is really a sight with its vivid yellow bands. When the mother was a hatchling, she was a tricolor...but as an adult, I see only 2 colors (yellow and red)...should she be classified now as a bi-color albino?

Later...

Very nice Joe! The first of many clutches to come I'm sure. I've seen my hondos hooked a few times too. Female is starting to get really big. I may have some eggs in a few weeks too. Keep us posted on your other clutches as they come!

Hi Randy,

Yes, we are way behind this year. Actually, we are one day ahead. Our first clutch last year was on the 16th.

Seeya in August if not sooner.
