i breed them, have so many that i cant keep up with them sometimes, they are great breeders and most of my girls produce pretty large litters.

i feed them to 2 of my het pieds that are VERY stubborn. BUT i would cook them lobster tails weekly if they'd eat them. I dont see why you would have to switch them off ASF rats as long as you have a good source of them.

They are cute buggers. Not everyone can get them or breeds them, if you feed snakes you plan on keeping then go for it, but for selling
it could prove hard for the purchaser to get them.

see i figure i would give whoever got a snake from me, a group 1.2 for free if they didnt have a way to find there own. if they wanted it.

not if they don't want to breed rodents.....

.......you'd have to switch balls back to rats (or mice at least).....

.......I like balls that eat everything............

So here is the general consensus as I understand it there is a great little forum dedicated to ASFs and lots of people with a wealth of knowledge (http://asfrats.info/) ....

ASFs have become more and more available nation wide in the past year or so. They are rarely $30 a piece any more - you can pick them up in shows for $30 a dozen if you want - yes - there are places they are illegal - if you ask around you'll find them anywhere for cheap.

ASFs are great for WCs and picky feeders - you can feed them to your regular good feeders as well - I have never heard of a good feeder refusing to switch back to regular rodents after being fed ASFs. However a picky feeder that eats well on ASFs might not switch to regular rodents - think similar problem with mousers not wanting to switch to rats. I wouldn't start babies out on them - but after getting babies that are feeding well on regular rodents I wouldn't see any problem with substituting ASFs into it's diet.
