Ball Python urine and feces

OmarMorsy Apr 16, 2008 02:30 PM

A rookie question,

I have seen two white chacky balls the size of green pees next to my new baby ball. I read that this is the urine? is that so? I removed it , should I remove the substrate under it aswell? Or is that overkill? Also Do ball Python's ever urinate liquide ?

He also defecated a long wet brown feces, he had last eaten on a friday we are now wednesday, should I still feed him on friday?

thanx for helping a newbie!

Yep, that would snake pee. It's called a urate. They do not "urinate" actually so any liquid you may see is probably fecal. Remove the urate and if any moist substrate. there shouldn't be a lot.

If you fed him on Friday, then wait until Friday to feed again. Just stick to a schedule. One appropriate sized meal a week on the same day.

they urinate alot of liquid usually along with the balls of non-water-soluable urates.......BIG girls (and boys) can make a really big wet spot......

.feed as you like......

......good luck.....

Yes it is called urates and is a combination of concentrated urine and unused minerals sluft off by the kidneys and will come out with liquid urine and some times there will just be urine , and you should remove it as well as any substrate under and around it that is or was wet . I spot clean every day or every other day at the longest , and with over 200 tubs and cages it can be time consuming . David
