First off congrats!!!

Ok since there is such a variance of differences with these neonates color and pattern wise.

What the heck is going on and what am I looking at?

No abbreviations please. Not a boa linguist your typing to here.

Mom is a Pastel CBLT , Dad is a 2005 Summit Reptiles Pastel Salmon.

Pastel = reduction in black and clean - minimal specklin
CBLT = Circle Back Ladder Tail - refers to the dorsal pattern

Genetics says 1/2 would be salmons from dad since he has one dominant salmon gene.

Looks like I beat the odds as there are 12 salmons and 7 normals.

the Pastel influence will also vary animal to animal, not a single gene type trait. Some are more pastel than others.

Also seems the Salmon gene tends to affect dorsal pattern and there were no Salmon CBLT's (Dad's color witnh Mom's pattern)

Looks like all that did not get the salmon gene have some degree of Mom's CBLT pattern, all have circle back pattens, not all have the ladder tail

Pics of Mom...

In 2005 Summit Reptiles produced a litter of Pastel Salmons that turned out to be absolutely stunning animals. I bought one not knowing how special they were going to be...lucky me. That litter is well known and sought after in the boa community.

Pics of Dad....

Thanks Dave.

I have a better understanding of what I was looking at and have to say I bet some of those will change into beauties.

Also it is nice that "snakes" from that litter are sought after in the boa community, since he is the sire. Adds some value to your babies.

Most welcome, any opportunity to pass on knowledge is a good one!!

Exactly my thinking, there was very strong response to my baby post on the boa forum, several of which indicated the lineage. Always good to have something desireable!!!!
