what is the best way to post a 2x4 to a horse trough?
classic drill, nut, and bolt. drill through the wood and the metal with about a 1/3in bit. run the same size rounded head bolt from the inside out throw a washer and nut on and tighten it. this way the pointy end is on the outside so not to hurt the monitor.

im guessing hes gonna try and build a cage like pro exotics has , basically using the trough as a base to hold soil then building actual enclosure around it screws would be plenty with the 2x4s secured to plywood and around the truogh, the bolt and but idea could take a while and be a lot more expensive.
