Never turn your back on a Speck!

Nokturnel Tom Apr 17, 2008 04:35 PM

So yes, I am once again drowning in work over here and I let my guard down. Sometimes there's no stopping a hungry King, they will launch like a rocket and literally jump out of a cage and hit the floor and still never stop trying to bite everything in front of them including themselves. The reason this incident surprised me is this girl is SO gravid its ridiculous! Lucky for me I had some mice laying next to me which I grabbed and threw at her. She decided to eat immediately and I returned her to her cage when she was finished. She is as thick as a gravid King her size can be, here's a few pics I took when she finally stopped her frenzy.

this pic is blurry...but look at how fat she is!

So much for going off feed!

My Speckleds are also all voracious frenzy feeders, and I love it as they are problem free and quick to feed/clean and maintain. My Outerbanks are similar in feeding insanity fervor, even in shed right after they have eaten a big meal! The heck with Pavlov's dogs. These babies are conditioned to feed.
