Help! Baby Western banded gecko!!!

bizzy Aug 29, 2003 10:07 PM

Hey,
Yesterday I was given a baby western banded gecko that isn't more than a week old. I know nothing about them and I need to find some info. Also the worms I have for my leos are way too big for it. I bought the smallest worms petsmart carried however I still had no luck, Can I cut them in half and get Boo to eat it? S/he wont eat the halfs because it doesnt always move long enough. PLEASE HELP : ) Boo is XTREMELY SKINNY! Any help is greatly appreciated. Also She does try to get the worms but as they are too big she ends up flinging them across the tank...
Thanx,
Bizzy

Try doing a search with they're scientific name - Coleonyx variegatus - that might turn up some more results.

As azureus06 said, try pinhead/hatchling crickets. flightless friutflies are ok too. with the worms, try mashing them up to make a paste so then your baby can lick it. hopefully that would work until you get some crickets.

Good Luck

Claire

I had a couple westerns last year. one was a little baby when i got it. it did quite well on crickets until its big enough for small mealies. start with pin heads.

Your going to need some flightless fruit flys or some 1/8 inch crickets. You might try some really small mealies also in a shallow dish. Like a jar top or something. I recommend ordering a fruit fly culture. Hope this helps.
