Ive been reading here for quite a while and finally adopted a 15 inch Savannah Monitor. I was told that up to this time he's only eaten crickets and eats them daily.
Weve had him a week now he is regularly eating crickets and no longer hisses when we approach slowly and will close his eyes when I rub his head.
Yesterday, coincidence has it my kids pet rats had a litter of pets. So I immediately pulled two and offered them to "monster" who quickly ate them both.
What I was wondering and not real clear on is when I can feed him again. Everything Ive read says two to three days. So if he ate Thursday is 2 days Saturday or Sunday?
I am aware that by 4 or 5 days the rat babies will be likely to big for him. I was just curious if he can get another free meal before I start buying them.
Also, being possibly his first rodent meal should I wait longer to be sure they are fully digested. His temperatures are all right for this and he seemed pretty content this morning.
