Question about EGGS!

Grishnnakh Apr 18, 2008 01:36 PM

I'm new with eggs. I have two females and a male. On March 27, one of them laid two eggs. On April 4, the second one laid two more eggs. The thing is the first one laid her second pair of eggs last night. At this moment, the first pair of eggs do not show any sign of being fertile, except that they are stiff, clean and dry - 22 days after being laid. The pair laid by the second female looks very pink-ish (red-ish), but the first pair in question looks yellowish.

The question is: In your experience, how long does it an infertile egg to explode, implode, go bad?

Right know they look very good except for the color, specially compared with the pair laid by the second female, eight day after.

There are many factors that determine the rate at which an egg developes. There are may site you can check online. One of my gecko's eggs hatch at 60 days and the other gecko's eggs take 70.What I do is candle them after 2 weeks and if there is any viens or if it has a pinkish hue I just leave them. Just give them time and be patient. Unless they shrivel or go moldy I would let them be. It can take 12 weeks for them to hatch. GL
