Particular color of bearded dragon

dstubitsch Apr 18, 2008 07:36 PM

I intereseted in bearded dragons (but don't have one yet)and in reading up on them I found the book "Bearded Dragons in Captivity" by Allen Repashy. The dragon featured on the cover is amazing and I'm wondering what the color of this dragon is called. It is orange and yellow with a pattern of purplish blue down the lower sides with the remaining pattern a white or light yellow. It's spikes are white. It is very unique looking. I'd supply an image but my scanner is off. Anyone know what I am refering to? If not I'll try to post a picture tomorrow. Thanks for any help. Dawn

You should repost in the general forum. This sub-forum is rarely used so hardly anyone looks at it anymore.

Thanks for letting me know that.

Dawn,
Her name is "Ginger", we call the color "Rainbow" because of the strong pattern. We get a few nice ones every year and I have seen several of ours on various websites that have matured very nicely. We have some of Ginger's eggs in the incubator right now so hopefully we will have some babies available in a couple of months.

Here is Ginger, the book cover, and Ginger's younger sister "Salsa" with Hollywood.

Hi Rick,

Are you down in San Diego? I think I may have one of your babies from Ginger on the cover of the book. She is a gorgeous female that looks just like Ginger. she is about 15 inches and bright orange with the blue bars on her sides. I was told about a month ago when I got her that she was about 6 months old. I bought her from a young fellow in the service who was going back to Iraq and he brought up this book on my computer and told me she was one of the babies from the one on the cover. His name was Mike.
Anyway I am just hoping this is all true......

Just wanted to introduce myself......JD
