Brand New Beardie!!

SandfireBD Aug 29, 2003 10:52 PM

Hi I just wanted to know if it is ok to feed my baby beardie lettuce and sliced apples and stuff? Can someone post me a list of vegtables and fruits that i can feed it? Cause right when i got it home it sat on my lap, and i heard they try to run but mine didnt, i mean it walked around but didnt take off. And it also ate right outta my hand, i held out lettuce and it went right for it. Just wanted to know if this is normal for a baby. I was told that adults usually will go for vegtables and fruits but not babies. But im not sure let me know. Thanks, RJ

Thats like my baby beardies, they eat anything I give them, lol. SOme are just little pigs. Mine also liek to hang onto my shirt, or sleep in my lap late at night. I love the ones that like to do that.sounds like you have a very sweet beardie.

Since no one said it..I will, so you know.
Lettuce is not good for dragons. It has very little nutritional value and is mostly water. It will give your baby the shiznits and cause him to be dehydrated. A base of finely chopped collard greens along with other veggies/fruits added to it is a good place to start.
It's great that your beardie is eating greens, alot of them won't until they are older.

That's what I love about this forum.... Always something new to learn! I'd heard collard greens were better for them but never heard that lettuce was bad.

Thanks,
Robert
