still gone and getting discouraged!

Well, it's been in the 70's the last 3 or 4 days, and still no sign of Sparky! I'm giving up hope and becoming very sad!

Don't be sad yet, I am way further south then most and only half of ours are up.
The ground will warm up much slower, the chamber we have in the shade everyone in that one is still asleep.
We had two pairs mating in the sunny south side this morning and they all have been up for over two weeks now.
All my ornates are up as of this week but they have the sunniest pen and had 10 hours of sun on the top of their chamber.

But, you see, this is no ordinary hibernating turtle. This is my little "Alice disappears down the rabbit hole" turtle! She wasn't hibernating when she disappeared. I'm soo worried! I don't think she will ever make it out!

I'm sorry for you, I hope you will still have a happy ending to this story. I have had snakes get out and find them 3 months later alive and well.

Thank you. That is a heartening note! She is in an enclosure, so she's not going anywhere! I just wish I could find a way to get her out of there!

If I were you, I'd start digging. The turtle is probably fine, but the suspense would drive me batty. I have hard, red clay here and I recently dug a 4 foot deep hole for a bog in just a few hours.
