do you have to seal the wood?

i am building a birch inclosure do i deed to seal it? it will have very low humidity. desert set up.

Yes... woods porous and the urates and other reptile smells will seep into the wood. Also another good reason to seal the wood is the temperature outside will be different than inside the cage, and that will cause the wood to warp, sealing helps prevent this to some extent...

Honestly you can probably get away without sealing the wood, but I think it's a good idea to keep bactieral growth to a minimum.
