Contact as backround in a glass tank?

VenomPrx Apr 19, 2008 10:55 PM

well, after today destroying my fragile powdery futile attempt at a plaster rockwall, i still search for a backround. i had the idea of using contact, which is essentially adhesive plastic on the aquarium backing. Ive heard it reccomended in cage building as an alternative to painting, reducing the amount of fumes. at this point, I’m just looking for something decent for this 75 gallon. my question is, is it known to give off fumes when heated? and does it easily come off the glass if i need to remove it? i know that its water proof. i am aware of formica, but ive been told its pricey. i DETEST aquarium backrounds- and am looking for a simple solid color (oxide, or terra cotta) or maybe a sand or rock pattern. i dont think my cage size, which in my opinion is minemum dimensions, can really appropriatly accomodate a rockwall, so i turn my attention to the conservation of floor space, and took a change of climbing space from rock to branch. all suggestions for a backround materal that would work for me are welcome. thank you for your time.

You should repost in the general forum. This sub-forum is rarely used so hardly anyone looks at it anymore.
