Help me with this new bloodline of red..

krhodes Apr 20, 2008 07:42 AM

Also looking to pair this girl up. She is a WC 2007, Lubbock county locale. From most I've talked to, this is nicer than most that have come out of the Lubbock area. She does look similar to nice Kingsville, but I'd like to breed for color rather than locale. Any lines of reds that you guys think may be good for this?
Thanks again for your time.

I'd get another from that locality and line breed them for that color. Once that line is established then I'd look into out-crossing that into the other red lines for refinement.

my two cents.

I agree with Joe 100%. If you breed it to another stablished line of reds you will never really know in the offspring what line is showing itself. Just get another from very close and line breed baby line breed.
If you get bored with her send her my way and I will find another from there to do it with.keep it locale and it will be more rewarding in the end.

I agree with both Joe and Shannon. Those are fine looking animals.
