Anyone order from LLL Reptile????

fisherk2 Aug 29, 2003 11:25 PM

I am new to snakes, but not to herps in general, and I want to get a ball python. Anyway, I saw that LLL is selling babies for 28.99 each, and I was just wondering if it was to good to be true. I'm thinking I'll probably end up with a snake that has some problems. What do you think?

I have not personally purchased a reptile from them, but I bet there are several local breeders in your area who could sell you a high quality normal ball python for under $50, and be there if you need help with any problems, and usally they will only sell Balls when they are already feeding.
hope this helps- Eric

I got mine from them at a reptile show 3 or 4 months ago. he was great (but missing see post below) I haven't had a problem with him. I saw some of there babies at the last IRBA show about 2 weeks ago and they looked fine to me, not sure about if they were eating or not.

I dont think those are CB. I got a CB female from a local breeder for only $35, so if you just keep looking around and make some offers, you could probably get one for just a little more. That one would be about $55 after shipping, so you might even be able to find one for cheaper...

I have bought from them and I know they are not CB, I did not have any problems but if I had known then that they were CH then I would not have bought it from them. I agree and would wait for a local breeder to produce CB babies.

Instead of GUESSING at what LLL is selling, why don't you call them and ASK? LLL does have captive bred animals, they actually buy my Hogg island babies when they are available. They are offering poss hets and hets too, so obviously those are CB ball pythons, maybe they got some cb normals in too.

I bought my BP from LLL a few months ago when they were on special for $16.00. She arrived in perfect health. She eats like clockwork and I have had no problems at all.

Unfortunately, I only asked if they were wild caught. Not if they were CB. I believe the one I bought was captive hatched.

I have also purchased a lot of supplies for my snake and lizards and they have always had great prices and service.

Do you guys think the PH pied they are selling is actually a PH pied? I don't want to spend $150 to get a normal when I can get a true PH pied for $250 from a good breeder like Ralph or NERD.
