Brownsville. Texas Tree snake?

RioBravoReptiles Apr 20, 2008 02:03 PM

I was out today and got a few photos of interest.. a tree snake?
.

.

.
.. it's a two-meter western diamondback rattlesnake.. I've seen them in shrubs but these photos are deceiving, it's on the ground near a big rodent stick-nest..
.

.
.. a pretty snake!

.
Thanks for visiting!

Good lookin' D-Back. He hauled his big self up in the tree and was just hangin' out.

A quote from Harry Greene's book:

"Sir Richard Owen, a famous nineteenth century British anatomist, claimed snakes can 'outswim the fish and outclimb the monkey'."
