Chams vs. Crickets on the mesh

superjustin Apr 21, 2008 04:11 PM

My werners chameleon wont strike at crickets walking on the mesh sides of his cage. I have to recapture the crickets with tweezers and then release it on the wooden log or the plants that is in his cage for him to see it and strike at it.

strange... just wanted to share that with you all.

Actually I don't think that is strange. Chams are protective about their tongues. It could be that he doesn't like hitting the mesh with the tip of it. Some chams don't like rigid sided feeding bowls for that reason either.

That is very intersting.

I've kept exotics for approx 15 years and I have to say Chameleons are the most amazing and gorgeous creatures I have ever had. I am officially hooked on chameleons.
