Any Chain King breeders ever have females that retained sperm from last year's efforts? My female is swelling up, but she hasn't bred this year, as she hasn't shed yet and the pair show no interest (yet...).

There's always the chance they could be infertile, but just trying to gauge the possibility they might actually be fertile.

Keep us posted on what happens. Did the female lock up with the male last year ? If so was it late in the year or normal time i.e. apr-jun ?

She laid eggs on 5/26 of last year, 18 / 18 hatched. I had them together about six times.

There's no interest when I put them together this season, she hasn't shed yet since pulling her out on 2/15, which is odd too. Chances are I've missed my window of opportunity for this year, but, of course, there's the swelling. She looks like she's in the early stages, and I'd hate for her to expend all the energy on slugs. Nothing I can do except wait, really, and obviously, I'm curious about the outcome. I'll keep you posted.
