Kids For Kindness Earth Day 2008 Pics!!

OKReptileRescue Apr 22, 2008 02:09 AM

We took the rescue out to this event, we went last year as well. We promote kindness to animals, conservation, and most importantly responsible pet ownership.
Had lots of fun-- here's a few pics....

first, Me and the Beardie...

My mom and a Red tail....

My husband and Shivaah...

My favorite pic of the whole event--- Snake Kisses...

And of course a ball python--- another favorite!!

Enjoy!! We had a blast at the event and I am VERY sun burned!!

Shivaah the burm, rubbed her nose A LOT on the way down there so she's a little rough on the nose, then after being out all day, her belly scales got a little ragged, she's about to shed and we came home and had a nice warm bath, and got her all fixed up-- wanted to note those things before I got a lecture about her belly scales or nose. lol

Looks like a fun day. I have gone to the schools with my stuff and it is always fun. It is great seeing the kids with the snakes.

I'm sorry, but I don't think any Burmese no matter how tame should be allowed that close to that small a child. I have raised Burmese for many years and know that they can be a little unpredictable. Even if yours is dog tame someone might think to try it with their Burmese since they saw it done by responsible handlers. One bite to the face would make sensational headlines on every news channel.

Mike, you are so right. God I'd hate to see how the news would react to that one. I have 3 kids myself. One of their favorite's of my snakes is Buddy, our 14 ft burm. She is calm as they come but I am always catious when she or any of my other big snakes are out because an accident can happen at any time. Thats why its called an accident.
