My amel AFT is withering away!

GekkoGecko Aug 30, 2003 01:57 AM

I'm not sure why, but she sems to be slowly dying. I thought she may have been gravid and possibly be egg bound, but it is so hard to tell with her. She's eating so little it's scary. Her tail is very thin too (it was always fat). Any help would be appreciated. By the way...she has an inordinate amount of black showing through her belly.

Thanks

Maybe she´s impact.. What substrate do you have her on?

If she´s impacted she´s surely dehydrated also.. If you don´t know how to check that.. You just lift up a little of her skin gently.. if the skin stays that way even if you don´t hold it up, she´s dehydrated.. YOU MUST TAKE CARE OF THAT!!! The easiest way is to go to the vet because it´s very hard to fix it yourself..

Put her in lukewarm water for about 20 min´s & gently massage her belly at the same time..

Another thing you can do if the first one didn´t make her poop..
Give her parrafinoil or any other oil you have home..

If this doesn´t work either you can fill up the bathtub with the hot water, put a char in it & her in a little box on top of the chair.. Leave her there for an hour..

I hope something of this works for you.. But first you must go to the vet if she´s dehydrated or else she won´t be able to get rid of the impaction..

If she´s not imapct I don´t have a clue of what it can be.. parasites, mabye..

Good luck & keep us updated..
