Interestingly, I always thought that my 3toes grew over the winter, but I never kept records of weight and length, but this year and a half I did. I believe my 3 toes are near full grown now, they did not grow more than a millimeter or so and they only lost a couple grams each from Oct pre-brumation to last week when I weighed them post-brumation. My easterns however a couple years younger and still growing and interestingly they all gained 5-10 grams and a couple millimeters over the winter. I assume that is mostly water weight, but there is the chance that they ate some bugs or worms in the soil this spring before they came up to the surface. Here are some picts of the easterns having their post-brumation bath/soak. The last couple photos are of the one of two that I am certain are male, I think here is going to be real pretty in a couple years.
