Don't shoot the Newbie...

I know this question has been asked probably over and over... I'm sorry, I'm a ball python redtail girl, and I've searched and can't find a deffinite answer -- I've seen yes's and no's.

Can you house ETB's with Dart Frogs for a pretty display set-up?? Any info would be appreciated... And if they CAN coexist together, any tips would be awesome, Thanks!!

I've never tried, and don't know anyone that has, but it doesn't sound like a very good idea...Corallus species feed on frogs, lizards, birds, bats, and rodents.

I've seen this done many times at zoos and reptile centers.

This place www.reptilia.org/ has a very nice display with ETB and darts.

Its not the best idea, but I believe it is possible with a caninus. They usually dont pay much attention to cold blooded prey.

Not for hortulanus (never). This one is far more sensitive to motion and even cold blooded prey.

You should try witha big cage, and an ETB bigger than 2 feet.

I would also reccomend a tall cage, with suspended water dish so the emerald will probably not come so often close to the frogs.

And it will be never 100% safe..

See, mixed Yes's and No's :-/

Well, maybe more details?... She's still a baby, just starting to show some green, so that kills the larger aspect for the snake. However, she's agressive, but an extremely picky eater. She often needs convincing to eat. Maybe she'll be okay near frogs??

I was thinking a medium-sized octagon tank, so I guess that would cover the tall issue. If I really go for this, I'll deffinately do the arboreal water dish.

I guess my major question is, if for whatever reason she decides to tag and consume one of the little froggies (that would be an expensive diet), will it hurt her?? I guess, is eating frogs bad for an ETB??

It will not harm her, frogs (usually the arboreal species) are a natural part of their diet, especially at the age yours is at right now.
