So this is sounding more and more like I'll be rescuing these Corns..
The latest message from his new wife after I said I could easily come by this week and pick them up:
"ok just let us know when. Mike has a dr appt tomorrow at 1035 but should be home after that. I get home around 4 but just let us know wen you want to pick them up. Mike has the bags to put them in for transport. No, he never had them probed (that sounds so gross). he wasn't really interested in knowing the sex, but feel free to probe away 
oh yeah, they are probably ready to eat again or getting very close to it. They both eat live small rats right now as it gets closer to summer they will be eating small medium rats again. anyhow, let us know when your available to get them."
....Yeah, straight to the vet at my first opportunity. >_
