cost of the vet, mad hubby

starmom Apr 23, 2008 09:40 PM

got a world of grief from my hubby for taking my 7 yr old dragon to the vet today......

what a jerk!

says i could get a replacement drgon for the cost of this visit? something about natural selection etc.....

this from a man that refers to delilah as "his dog" and has spent many an hour snuggled up on the couch with her...

im pretty much blown away at the comments and insensitivity and pretty pissed myself.........

its not like i dont work (im a nurse) and pay bills......

just needed to vent.....

thanks;

sue

It's always hard when the ones we love don't seem to grasp just how much we care for our reptile friends.

Most of my family would react the same way, all of our 'furry' pets get loved and cherished, but the reptiles are seen as things that can just be thrown away or replaced. It's very sad

Truth be told, I love my reptile friends way more than most people I know...they're definitely not 'replaceable'.

Best Wishes to you and your dragon!

thanks for the imput............

ive barely spoken to him since the outburst the other nite.....

its just unbeleiveable, because he has interacted with this dragon lots over the years that he would REALLY think that way...

Tell him I'll switch with you, my Aussie dog is looking at $2500 knee surgery to repair his partially torn ACl or CCL.
