When your snakes move up from pinky mice/peach fuzzies to something bigger, how many of you use hopper mice and how many use pink rats? Do you notice a significant difference in growth rate? Health problems associated with one food vs another?
I've seen charts of the nutritional breakdowns of different sizes/ages of mice, rats, rabbits, etc., and find it very interesting. I switch most of my snakes over to pinky rats once they are large enough and their growth usually takes off rather quickly. They also seem to prefer the pink rats to the hopper mice.
Has anyone done a study, perhaps raising half of a clutch on mice and the other half on rats and comparing size, weight, health, reproduction and longevity?

What are your thoughts?
