new California regulation

Most people probably have not heard about this yet, but as of last week it is now illegal to possess any Nerodia (water snakes) species. They have been added to the detrimental species list since there are now 2 established populations in the states, probably from released pets.

Thanks Rick. Shouldn't be a problem except for transplanted east coasters....lol. Any word on the other things that have been in the works for a while now?

With the proposed budget cuts, I would not expect much out of the DFG for a while. They are reviewing the species of special concern list for herps, but I do not know what this means in the way of changes. It is sorely in need of being updated so will be interesting to see where it leads.
