I'm going for the leucomelas with the green legs... Still a question!

blizzy Aug 30, 2003 08:18 AM

I found some leucomelas with green legs, awesome animals!
I'm thinking about getting 5 frogs (2.3.0) but I don't know if this is going to work... Is it better to have a group or a pair or a trio (2.1.0)? Does this have an influence on their breeding?

Cheers, Blizzy

Yes he has green legs and does really exist in the wild.
It's not a hybrid like some people think.

Nope, no imitator!
I know the difference between an imitator and a leucomelas!

I'm getting them from a friend. I'm in Europe...
How should you keep them? How many males with how many females?

Cheers, Blizzy

You keep them the same as any other D.leucomelas...at least that's the way I keep them for some years now. Even had offspring of my couple.

Hi Blizzy,

When you post a picture make sure to post the url of the photo rather than the url of the site. When I kept the leucomelas I had them in a group with 3 males and 1 female. You can have equal amounts of success breeding leucomelas in groups or in pairs. Female frogs that will sometimes fight and I remember hearing about them eating each others eggs so if you have a group its best to have a few males and one female. The males rarely fight as long as there is enough room. Good luck, post some pictures when you recieve the frogs
