Hello, from Hawaii

atherisquamigera Apr 24, 2008 11:37 PM

Hi I haven't been on here for so long, I was missing the snake community. Hawaii is paradise, but I still can't stop thinking about my original dream to become a big-time snake breeder. I read Aubrey's post from a while ago about the black siblings, and I'm glad you guys like them. So what happened with that scary legislation that was going to ban all boids anyway?

Hello Jasmine,

Nice to see your post, I was wondering what happened with you. I've been waiting to see your business plan! Does Hawaii have any restrictions on keeping snakes/reptiles? Maybe you can start a reptile museum/attraction there, at least you'd get to work with snakes.

Regarding legislation, there are always stupid state bills being proposed, so it's not just the federal nonsense that is threatening our hobby.

Thanks,
Ed

That's sad, that they don't allow snakes! (Except for those little "flower pot" snakes that stowed away to get there.)

Regulations are all over the board in Minnesota, where I live. In my suburb of Roseville, people can own any snake they please, except venomous ones. But in next-door St. Paul, people have to get permits to own any type of snake! (Funny, given that the biggest reptile shop in the Twin Cities---Twin Cities Reptiles---is located in St. Paul.)

Hi Jasmine! Glad to hear you are doing well way over there. Gozer and Zool are doing very well, and eating everything in sight. Gozer is deep in shed now, but I plan to get some new pictures soon.
