My room gets too hot during the summer. I have an attick apt and one room is for my snakes. If the A.C. turns off I'd like to have an windo AC unit to make sure it doesn't get extremely hot in my snake room.
My T-stats all are for heating JC stats and various others.

Can you recommend a T-stat plug-in unit that I can use for my windo AC unit. So I can have it turn on say if it gets over 86 degrees.

A link or other info where I can find this would be very helpful.

They make cheap thermostats specifically for window AC units. I linked to one in a while back but am not sure if it was deleted, as a lot of threads with links are nowadays.

They are very common and very easy to find. Look on google.

The Ranco's like Jeremy mentioned will be more expensive but also much more accurate, with a tighter hysteresis. I don't worry about hysteresis too much, as long as the the on and off temps are within five degree F. or so.

I also believe you can get Ranco's that automatically switch from heating to cooling. So you can have both a space heater and an AC unit plugged into the same Tstat and it will switch as needed. I know there are Tstats that do this but am not completely sure if the Rancos are one of them.

Nice feature in certain parts of the country.

Those are more expensive!!!

They also make units that handle both.....
