Do speckles remain into Adulthood?

Just wondering I bought a 2007 red pastel and noticed the speckles are either fading or disappearing with each shed. Is this possible? Or am I wrong?

They get bigger as the Boa gets bigger but not in relation to the overall size of the animal.
