It's all I ever use, and I think it's a godsend. I was using aspen, aspen mixed with sweet pdz, aspen and baking soda... NOTHING works as well as pellets. I think Equine Fresh is probably one of the best out there.
My nursing females still get some aspen to nest in, the sawdust when the pellets break down gets in their noses and eyes. So best to give her something to nest in. 100% survival rate.
thanks for that info.
I second that, we used to use advance pellet by eagle but this is much better.
I tried it once, or it might have been "Equi Litter" or something like that. It was pine pellets. Worked okay, but it expanded TOO much. If there was a water bottle leak the pellets would break down into sawdust and fill the entire tub. The poor mice had nowhere to go, they were stuck in a little hollow they dug out up against the wire top.
Currently using wood stove pellets from Menards, $4 for 40 lbs, though it looks like a seasonal item and I don't think my 2 remaining bags will last until the fall.
