Burgundy albino / Banana / Whitesmoke..are these morphs the same, similar, or totally different mutations? They look very similar to me...at least when you see a picture of one, then a photo of another a few months later. I wouldnt be suprised if it turned out that they were genetically similar - one or all...

Dave and Tacy at VPI got babies from a spotnose bred to their burgandy albino. None of the babies were burgandy albinos, so that trait, if it is genetic, is simple recessive. There are a couple of other people working with very similar animals. I think that the whitesmoke and banana are the same thing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I think two people just named them different things.

Are you saying the Banana & Whitesmoke are dominant od co-dominant,and therefore they are not the same as the VPI animal which is recessive? I thought the Banana was recessive also -no? I really havent followed these that closely... I think they (Banana, W.S., & Burgundy) are stunning animals.

the banana/whitesmoke is dom or co dom with the morph produced in one breeding. there is no super yet that i know of. the burgundy looks (to me) like a toffee, which is presumed simple recessive. the barkers commented on the possibility on their site. i am pretty sure toffees will be produced this year, from het to het breedings. all mentioned are kick a$$ mutations.
