who is going to datona or orlando?

snakeylo Apr 25, 2008 10:32 PM

I plan on going to datona or orlando show this year and was wondering who else is going. I have never been to Florida and would like some pointers on things to do while I am there. The herp shows will be the highlight of my trip but I plan on a little extra fun too. Maybe a side trip to ben seigals or some of the other herp attractions.

We don't have any shows in Minnesota like the big Florida ones, alas, and it's a bit too far for me to traverse right now.

Are you just looking for reptile-related sights? Otherwise, there are a ton of non-snake things to see as well. When we went to Florida, I got several Florida travel guidebooks from the library and took them with; they were a huge help.

I go to Daytona every year, stay Friday for a seminar (since it's unfortunately not physically possible to see both, bummer), go to the show Saturday, and leave that night. I use to go to Orlando, but its a two hour drive for me and I usually walk the whole show in about 45 minutes. they hold it in a huge building, you'd think they can make it a little bigger. They've had some good shows there throughout the day though. If you're into venomous snakes, you'll definitely want to visit Reptile world Seprentarium in St. Cloud, right outside of Orlando, and Gatorland, inside Orlando not far from St. Cloud.
