A little background first:
My boyfriend used to do reptile rescue (before we were together) then kinda weaned off of it, Now that we are together we just kind of fell back into it.(We both work at an ER vet clinic)About 3-4 days ago i was searching craigslist and saw a plead for help with a surinam red tail boa that was sick and the owners could not afford to take it to the vet. So i email the lady and asked what was going on with it, by the end of the email, with the description of what was going on with the snake it sounded like mouth rot. The lady immediatly brought the snake to me up at work and turned her over to me. Later that night when my B/F got off at his clinic he came to look at the snake. The DR determined it was mouth rot.

Ok so now my question...
We were told to do a solution of .5% Nolvasan and put it on the areas of infection, which with the perticular snake happys to be under neath the head, on top of the head, and obviously in the mouth. we apply it in all areas and flush the mouth out afterwards. But there also seems to be what looks to be infection slowly making its way up from the nose area between the eyes and up the back of the neck...
So far we have not fed her so i dont know how well she eats, but shes drinking water great and has lots of energy. Is there anything else anyone can suggest as a topical ointment for what seems to be an infection?
PLEASE HELP!
P.S. Our medical director works with reptiles and i will be having him take a look at her, but he doesnt work till sunday, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
