A few weeks ago I came home to a puddle of slugs from my EBV Red Group. She had spent the winter with an 18 month albino motley and a five year old double het sunglow. As I worked through the mess of slugs I found four normal babies swimming around in the goo. They were all very immature and all had huge yoke sacs protruding from their bodies. I was able to ligate the umbilical chords and within a few days all of the yoke sacs dropped off. It's been three weeks since I found the disturbing mess and only two of the four have shed.
Here are a few photos I took of one of the babies. What I find interesting is the amount of red this female has on her. Every saddle is drenched with a red bronze glaze and each madallion from the tail to the head is red. And then there is the red on her head. It will be interesting to see how she looks after a few more sheds.
Even though my collection consists mostly of morphs I can't help but be intrigued with normals that show a lot contrast.
I'm happy for all of you who have had succesful litters and my heart goes out to those that have had to endure litters of slugs.
Thanks for all the eye candy you guys are showing on this forum.
Continued success to everyone.
Brian
