2 FEMALE LEOS....NEED HELP!!!

bmills May 23, 2003 08:19 AM

I need advice on how to put a 20L tank together for 2 female leos. Any advice at all is helpful, regarding the amount of hides, where to put them, regarding the lights, etc. Should I have a humid and dry hide for each leo? Just questions about the setup and anything else you can think of to mention. Also anything regarding their behavior with each other that I might want to watch. Any and all advice is very much apreciated. Anything at all you can think of regarding the setup or the behavior. If anybody has a 20L tank, please feel free to describe your setup, I would greatly appreaciate it. Thanks.

I have 4 20 longs, I am building a rack system as we speak. So they will be replaced with sterlite boxes soon. Just too heavy and cumbersome.

I have an untertank heater under one side. The humid hide (cool whip container) sits over this. I have a dry hide (Reptile cave from Petsmart)on the cool side, with a water dish, calcium dish, and food bowl inbetween. I keep the food bowl full of around 10 mealies, and I drop in crickets every couple of days. Dusted every couple of feedings. I use ouddoor carpet from lowes as a substrate. Its the soft kind , not the scratchy stuff. A 15x9 foot roll was under 10 bucks. Cut the pieces to fit. I also have a piece of driftwood in their for climbing. I have actually seen them use this quite a bit. I have a light on top with a black light for night viewing. - My 2 year old son loves to look at the "lizzurds" -

Keep it clean and warm, and you will have happy leos.

I really appreciate you giving me your advice. Your post was very helpful and greatly appreciated. I will check on that carpet at lowes. I'm excited to get the tank today and make it all up nice and put them in there. Thanks again and if you think of anything else, don't hessitate to let me know. Also, if you have pictures, that would be nice, if not, don't worry about it. Thanks again.
