now that she's back, i have some ?s

She's awfully restless..which is what started the whole saga in the first place. I'm thinking maybe she wants to lay eggs. What kind of spot would she prefer? Sunny? Shady? In the open or under plants? I need to set up a spot for her, what would she most likely want?

Also, out of curiostiy, why did she stay buried when we had 10 days above 70, the last day being in the 80's. Seems like that would be warm enough to coax her out!

You can try to palpate her for eggs. Basically, you gently stick your finger in the little pocket that is just in front of her rear legs. Then, you tilt her so that the side where you have your finger is down.

For egg laying, they prefer a sunny, sandy, and warm spot. About 6 inches of a 1:1 potting soil to sand mixture with a basking bulb above should be good. Pack the sand down well, so that she can form her nest without it collapsing.

As far as the hiding, who knows? Reptiles do crazy things when they escape.
