That is a great looking snake. The pattern and eyes are so pronounced. Congratulations on bringing this long term project to this great result. I know it took a lot of time and effort but the result is worth it.

That snake is awesome! But what are the lighter hypo looking animals? Was it from a Bloody Salmon breeding? Some of those babies look hypo as can be?! If there is Hypo in there, could it be a Sharp Sunglow Blood?

salmonboa.com Apr 27, 2008 02:33 PM

Yes, there are Salmons in there. The parents were a Salmon 100% het. Sharp possible het. Blood bred to a normal 100% het. Sharp 100% het. Blood. Yes, it could be a Sunglow, but we feel strongly its an albino because of the lateral diamonds on the sides of the animal and its overall appearance!

Thank you all for your kind words and questions! We are on cloud nine today! This is the one animal we were really looking for this year!

Regards,
Rich and John

I've been waiting a long time to see this combo. I think it is the best combo of recessive morphs of all time. I'm sure you guys couldn't wait to see this litter drop. Absolutely the coolest and most interesting combo yet. Great job guys. Congrats.

That answers one big question. The Albino version of the Bloody stuff is going to bring a whole bunch more red influence! That's great!

Congrats and yes, I am still jealous... But very happy to see this new critter!!!

Hi, congrats on the litter.
I wonder if my laptop is messing up the colors, but from here the "bloody-sharp" looks more dark yellow/orange than red?
Were there no other bloodboas in this litter?

Wow, the eyes are just blow out! Can't wait to see more photos!!
Congrats on that thing-it is wild looking. I am such a fan of both snakes.

GainesReptiles Apr 27, 2008 04:12 PM

I think I will simply second everything that has already been said ... especially the eyes and tail pattern. I think this is an example where the Bloody Albino just might look better than the Bloody Sunglow due to the white outline around the tail saddles.

I think I'll help you guys celebrate from here in Indiana ... off to the refrig I go!

This picture is John Berry's. One of his pure El Salvador Blood males.

What's not to like?

BNixon Apr 28, 2008 09:04 AM

There is everything to like about that boa...however, I had seen some of Jeff (Boaphiles) videos where he mentions something breeding this Bloody Salmon and looking at it in the video it didnt look to appealing...who knows bad lighting? I like Johns Berry Bloods...those look intense...wonder who is working with and producing those this season? It would be nice if he was still here in the US!

ChrisGilbert Apr 28, 2008 10:35 AM

There are good and bad ones for sure.

I tend to lean toward the pure El Salvador Bloods, very strong colors throughout!

Well it is on my "list" of animals to get this year...who are all the breeders that produce El Salvador animals? I know Ron St. Pier is pretty much out of boas and John is in the UK...

Now that is truly something amazing and way different than anything we have yet to see. Big congrats on the beautiful boa, it's well deserved. Some say it's a Bloody nation to be and I want to be a part of that nation. Again fantastic job and wish continued good luck for the rest of the season. Take care. Andrew
