"Het" burgundy eggs.

Coldthumb Apr 27, 2008 08:57 PM

FINALLY!

I hatched this girl from a nice burgundy female in the spring of 2005...Mom never gained enough weight back to be bred to her sons, but this daughter was bred to one of her brothers this season.
So i have a 25% chance(per egg)of hatching baby burgundys,if the original mom is genetic.

There is another really long shot to them as well, since the sire to the 2005 clutch was a 50% possible het for caramel.

Only three are fertile though..Which doesn't help my odds much.

..infertile.

...the slug

..and no...i'm not incubating the slug..but i will give the infertile a week before i recandle and toss it.

Thanks Justin...
I took those candle pics for the new members in here, and those just getting their first eggs.(I figured they could help show how big a difference there really is with the color.)

..and hey...there's another het female laying right now.
