Has anyone ever had a boa that refuses to push out that last year old slug? My girl has had a rough week.. I helped get one large slug out then she pushed more out on her own.

I thought she was finished but there is still one by her vent that she refuses to push out. This is now days old...

I have already been to the vet and they say just to hydrate her and give her antibiotics in two ways, 1 under the skin with a needle and the other an enima type cleaner for inside.

I go back today at 1pm for an exray and the antibiotics.

I really think it needs to come out!! Any help here? If it is this close to the end will she just push it out on her own? Will it get infected in the vent area faster then in her body? Meaning it lasted a year in her already and has not killed her.. will it get infected now that it is out in the vent area?

During labor she allowed me to help.. now that she is no longer in labor she has her vent as tight as can be and there was no way for me to "get in".

This is worse than waiting for babies!! I just want her to clean out and be ok.

I would say it is critical that it comes out. Some vets will tell you to leave it others will want to do surgery. If you can get it like you did the others, try it. The problem is once the slug comes down the canal after a feeding it can get wedged and then cause a bowl obstruction, once she is impacted it becomes a secondary issue. Keep us posted on her progress.
Good luck bro!
