brhaco Apr 28, 2008 05:40 PM

Finally got results with this female I collected on River Road in'05. 7 good eggs-sire is a another S. Brewster animal from a few miles away, collected last June on 118 (S. of the Christmas Mnts).

I'm really excited about this, since I was told by several people at the time that splendida were NEVER found on RR. I've since learned that this was an exaggeration-but only a mild one. They certainly are rare enough that I had little hope of finding an exact locality match for her. I was lucky to collect her mate last season, a slightly "stub-tail" male with nearly identical coloration, and only a few miles away "as the raven flies" on 118.

There were seven good eggs, and I'll definitely post pics of the hatchlings after they shed.

I've never seen one on RR - xmas yes but not RR. I don't think I've ever heard of one either, other than that one.
