kinked tail ---breeding problem????

whatnowcustoms Apr 28, 2008 08:05 PM

i was thinking about buying this male for a breeding project. is was wondering from the people with more experience breeding etb's than i do..will the kinks in his tail affect his breeding? would the kinks prevent him from breeding? any help on this subject would be appriciated. thank you. mike.....also the ad is listed as follows but in the ad pics you cannot see where the tail is kinked........This is a four year old CBB male Basin. He always feeds on ft rats and never a health problem. He does have a few kinks in his tail below the vent that have never been an issue.

It would depend where the tail kink is. The big issue that you'll have to worry about is the animal not being able to hold in its urates because of the kink. It gets very messy and you've got to constantly be cleaning his vent to make sure it doesn't dry the skin out. Check with the current owner to see if the snake is having this problem.

sometimes kinking of the tail is genetic. i would go so far as to say, often it is. buy it if you want, but breeder beware. rusty
