Breeding...

PhunkeyPhish Apr 28, 2008 08:22 PM

I would like to get a mate for my snake in the distant future, but what do you do with all the offspring if you are only interested in keeping one? Mine is a male albino motley.

that is something to think about before you even think about breeding... you either have to give away or sell the babies.... snakes can lay from 3-30 eggs in one clutch... and may double clutch w/o you even wanting her to... breeding is more than just keeping 1 baby.... its finding GOOD homes for the others as well... and letting them go outside is against the law in every state...so you cant do that either.... sounds like you have to figure out what to do with the babies before you breed...

Lampropeltis getula floridana

Seriously - separate out a few of the eggs to incubate them and freeze the rest to kill them, then toss them out.

If you don't want the eggs their are plenty of guys that would love to have them (like me!). If you (or anyone reading this) has more eggs than they want, I will be glad to take them. If you are close I will come and get them. They can't be shipped and still survive (as far as I know).
