she split the difference...

mpollard Apr 28, 2008 10:28 PM

Jungle X Jungle het albino litter. According to her ovulation date, she was due yesterday. According to her POS date, she was due tomorrow. So she decided to follow the rules as best she could and had her litter tonight. 19 babies, 0 slugs, 0 premies, 0 stillborn. Almost a perfect litter! Only two were born in the sac with a little yolk, the rest pratically crawled out! Not sure on the split between normals, jungles and supers, but taking a quick tally as I put them up, it looked like 2 normals, 13 jungles, and 4 supers. Seems lite on the nornals and supers and weighted heavily towards jungles. But I could have screwed up the count. I didn't have much time to spend with the babies as I need to get up early tomorrow and I needed to get mom cleaned up, moved, fed and her birthing cage cleaned up. She did all the real work, the least I could do was give her the proper attention she deserved! I'll get a better count tomorrow.

Nice odds! I think Super Jungles are some of the best looking boas out there.

Thanks MIke,

Yeah, the mom is the het albino I got from you, and the male was the second of the two males I got from you last year. The first male I bred with an albino that's due next week.

I'll take a few more pics when everyone gets a little more crawly. Right now they're still acclimating...and I'm at work... lol

Great litter! Super jungles are in my opinion one of the most attractive morphs. I love their refined contemporary look. I am jealous. Congratulations!!!

Thank you, I agree that super jungles are one of my favorites too, but I may be just a tad bit biased!

I like that side striping on the super you pictured.

mpollard Apr 29, 2008 09:13 AM

Thank you. The interesting thing is, like Mike of Boas Etc pointed out, that these supers are a little odd looking. These supers lean toward connected patterns, or saddles with some degree of side stipes as opposed to the giggly stripe down the back. They are pretty consistant looking. I'll post more pics soon.

Thanks again!
