I have had many flavors of Peruvians over the years and I love them all, but the Black ones are my passion. I have probably had more of the Black ones than most Keepers that I know, but they have been ellusive to breed thus far. With not many around, most Keepers have not had the joy of seeing just how unreal and gorgeous they are.Black males are even more of a rarity, so I have to choose ones with darker markings to contribute. Hopefully, I can start to change that soon? So far the breedings on these girls has been consistent, we will see if any Ovulations come out of it next month?.......John J

John, great looking pairings, do you have a theory about how those ones that turn black look when they are younger? Are they the same as their siblings or do they have a different look about them from the day they pop out? Thanks for sharing those with us, Nick Stone

At this point Nick " nobody really knos for sure? " Some Peruvians, will get black as they get older and some will start turning at a sub-adult size and remain with allot of black and sometimes even gain even more black as they age like these two girls. Gus, produced a litter a couple years back, that had some that were black at birth and black eyes. Last pictures I seen of them however, they were not holding much more than a wash and lost the depth in black and just got really clean " time will continue to tell on that interesting project? " The goal, would be to get them black at birth and them stay that way. This will take some time and effort and a desire to hold back anything that even appears to be darker than the rest. Unless a miracle happens, this will be a long project in the making, in all honesty. Here is another beautiful and black girl.....John J
